Dr. Atkins  is a Licensed Psychologist and School Psychologist who employs a  flexible, integrated approach combining psycho-dynamic principles,  cognitive-behavioral strategies and mindfulness techniques to foster self-understanding, personal growth and problem-solving. She provides individual and family therapy, parenting support, and school consultation.  With client permission, she often collaborates with school personnel and health care professionals to provide comprehensive treatment. Dr. Atkins lectures and provides workshops to school and community groups on issues related to children and mental health. She was featured on the Seeking Solutions with Suzanne in 2015 in a show on inter-generational conflict. 

Dr. Atkins received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University in 1993 and her B.S. in Psychology from Tufts University magna cum laude  in 1987.  Prior to maintaining a full-time private practice, she was a consulting psychologist at the Kimberton-Waldorf School, a staff psychologist at the Devereux Day School, and a  seminar leader in the doctoral internship program at the Devereux Foundation. 

Dr. Atkins is a member of the American Psychological Association, Pennsylvania Psychological Association, Philadelphia  Society of Clinical Psychologists and Specialists of Schools.
